we stand against the tyranny of censorship in malaysia
DID YOU KNOW?
1. Malaysia is anything but an Islamic state. As proven in our country's foundation, we can be known as a secular state. 2. Free speech in Malaysia is permissible as based in the constitution. 3. The current threat to freedom of speech in Malaysia is the Sedition Act of 1948, a colonial-based law that vaguely criminalizes dissent. 4. Due to the Sedition Act, Malaysia fell 2 points in the World Press Freedom Index 2014. 5. Malaysians are polarized due to this Act. To support it is to silence dissent, and to repeal it is to remove the shackles of tyranny. |
MISSION
1. To be a news watchdog reporting on free speech and abuses in Malaysia. 2. To expose laws and political actions that undermines the freedom to express oneself in Malaysia. 3. To encourage fellow Malaysians to stand up for themselves in the face of tyrannical meddling of their constitutional right to express freely. |
